Closing Fee
I feel like the closing costs were probably fairly standard. The only thing we didn't care for was having to pay for an appraisal 3 times, one of which was supposed to be credited back to us in closing costs and was not.
Interest Rate
I felt that the interest rate was fair. Our lender gave us a few things to do to improve our credit and decrease our interest rate from 4% to 3.5%, which was nice.
Loan Officer Service
Really, the service he provided was great. He was very helpful, any time there was an issue he had several solution options available. No matter what the issue was, he helped us stay optimistic that everything would work out in the end.
Overall Rating
Pros
Our lender was willing to work with us on buying an older home. They did a manual underwriting to accommodate our unique purchasing situation, buying from family.
Cons
The only thing I didn't care for was the conflicting information they gave us about certain repairs that would need to be done before closing. They would tell us that one thing wouldn't be an issue, but then later tell us that same thing needed to be fixed.
