Closing Fee
The cost of the closing fee was fairly standard to those charged by other lenders in the industry. I ranked it a '4' since the overall cost of the mortgage was slightly less than what I was expecting.

Interest Rate
My lender is fairly responsive and, at the time I initially sought and procured the mortgage, was very open and upfront with what the maximum I would be permitted to borrow. A few years later, Chase basically lowered my rate a full point on their own accord with minimal effort so that I have a very good mortgage rate currently.

Loan Officer Service
The loan officer was very proactive in looking to get me a better mortgage rate but, after 2013, I have had very little contact with any loan officer or another official from Chase.

Overall Rating
Pros
Chase is one of the premier mortgage lending and financial institutions in the United States. I have very little concern that my mortgage will be sold off or transferred to another institution so it provides me with a feeling of safety and stability.
Cons
To be honest, there is practically nothing that I dislike about Chase although a bit more attention and personal service would be a nice touch.

My closing costs were extremely low due to my lender closing it quickly and not delaying it with extra costs. Even the Seller's title company did a good enough job.

Interest Rate
My interest rate isn't as low as it could be with a cut-rate lender, but I don't mind because I trust my lender and they are respected in the community.

Loan Officer Service
He was persistent with communications with me throughout the entire process. I knew exactly what was going on at all times and any time I called the call was answered or promptly returned.

Overall Rating
Pros
It's a clear, reputable institution that has always told me exactly what is going on. They haven't gone behind my back with escrow or sold off the loan without telling me everything that happens.
Cons
It's a big bank that sometimes doesn't treat me the way I should be treated due to their volume of business. They also didn't offer the best rate and didn't offer to match other lenders on their rate.

Closing Fee
No one likes closing fees/costs which add a significant sum to your overall costs but it's part of every mortgage. Closing fees were about average and the same as compared to the other banks we looked at.

Interest Rate
We shopped around and compare rates with other banks (Wells Fargo, HSBC, smaller local banks) and Chase had the lowest rate among all and was up to 1% lower. Considering a 30-year mortgage 1% can add up to a lot of money.

Loan Officer Service
Our loan officer was always ready to assist us and answer our questions and help us out. She was even there to help us a lot of times after office hours. She made the process really smooth and easy and we even referred some friends to her after we closed.

Overall Rating
Pros
All costs were presented up front and there were no last second or hidden fees that popped up. Also, there are many Chase locations throughout my area so if any time I needed help with anything, I could just stop by conveniently.
Cons
The extra fees are annoying and I hate them but there really isn't much you can do as their part of every transaction. I mean, the bank has to earn money too.

My closing cost was reasonable. During closing the seller was asked to pay part of the closing costs which made this more manageable.

My interest rate is somewhat high compared to other lenders. I have received refinance quotes that would put my lender about equal with others.

I also bank with my mortgage lender. I am familiar with the format of the online dashboard so I am easily able to navigate and find all the information I need.

I like that my mortgage lender is also my personal bank. This makes communication easy as there are many local branches and I am familiar with the online layout.
Cons
I dislike that my interest rate is somewhat higher than other lenders that I have seen. Also, the mortgage lending team seems less personable than the general bank staff.

The closing costs were a bit high. Our originator included what I felt to be outrageous rates for title insurance. They filled their obligation to let me know that I have the right to shop for a better rate, but due to the tight schedules of closing a loan, it was not practical to shop for a better deal.

Interest Rate
It is very competitive. At the time, it was the lowest rate for a 15 year fixed loan that carried no upfront points costs. I was also lucky to secure the loan when rates were historically low.

Loan Officer Service
Our loan officer was incredibly responsive to all our questions, both during business hours and in the evenings. There were zero surprises if you don't count the high premium n the title insurance.

Pros
Chase is very efficient at what they do. They provide good rates on their loans, and they don't make me wait in line a long time to do business with them. Their website and apps are well designed so that I can usually serve myself for most needs.
Cons
They are a bit large and impersonal. Probably my number one complaint about Chase is not about its lending practices, but rather it is the fact that they offer very limited savings products with unreasonably low-interest rates.

I think my lender had a lower interest rate at the time of the loan of I know of. But mine started out with another lender. because we got the loan and they turned around and sold the loan before we even paid the 1st payment.

Our loan officer was wonderful, she was very helpful through the whole process. She was a very sweet person, she gave us a birdhouse at the closing and it's still in our yard today.

I had a USDA loan, so I had no closing cost. Other lenders offer this as well, but not all. However, I have heard that closing costs with Chase is very reasonable.

Interest Rate
The interest rate I have is very comparable to other lenders. It is on the low side, so I am happy with it.

My loan officer was excellent. She did everything is a timely manner and kept me up to date with everything. The closing date kept getting pushed back but not because of the lender. She worked very hard to get us the loan and interest rate we wanted.

I have no problem with Chase. Other lenders will tend to sell off the loan and people are always getting new lenders. I have had Chase from the beginning. They are always willing to work with you.
Cons
I don't like that the escrow goes up every year. This causes my mortgage to go up. Every year my price increases. I would like for it to stay the same.

My interest rate was higher than the others offered, but I was able to close faster with the lender I have, I would consider refinancing under the right conditions.

My loan officer was not at the level I expected. She made several mistakes on paperwork that made the process leading up to closing far too difficult.

It's been nearly 20 years since I first got my mortgage, so I can't remember exactly but I know the sellers paid the closing costs except for our attorney's fees which I believe were around $500. I believe my costs were about average for my area.

Interest Rate
at the time I got my mortgage, interest rates everywhere were around 8 percent, so that's what I originally had. a few years later (around 2003/2004) interest rates were dropping, so I refinanced at 6 percent. Over time, they continued to fall to around 4 percent, but by that time, it wasn't worth the cost of refinancing to justify changing again. I believe that interest rates were about the same at each bank in my area.

Loan Officer Service
She was very knowledgeable and professional. There were a few times when she "forgot" something, didn't mention something about a document we needed, etc. Overall I felt like the service was good.

We started out with a mortgage from our local bank. The initial closing etc went smoothly. Then a few months/year later or so we were notified that they sold our mortgage to Chase bank. I never had any problems with either institution. I was very pleased with the ease and user-friendliness of Chase's online mortgage department. It was very easy to understand and navigate. I could easily see my payment history, balance, etc. Any time I needed to call I didn't have to wait long to speak to someone and every issue was handled promptly or questions were answered without issue.
Cons
I thought that our local bank wasn't as experienced with handling mortgages. It simply wasn't their specialty. After our bank sold the mortgage to Chase, I don't remember any problems. I was hoping to get some type of document when I finished paying my mortgage - something that said "paid in full" etc but I did not. I went to my city property records and had them print off the document that Chase had sent them so they'd sent me the tax bill etc from then on.

My closing costs and fees were significantly lower than other financial institutions that I researched. I was able to negotiate with my loan officer and some of the fees and costs were reduced.

My loan officer was very friendly and was willing to reduce his commission and reduce fees in order to gain a new customer. That goes a long way in my book.

I really like using the Chase mobile app. It is user-friendly and makes it very easy to pay my mortgage, check my escrow account etc.

I have been trying to change my last name for several years with my mortgage company. I have sent all of the documents that they have requested and it still has yet to be changed. That is very frustrating.

I think the hidden fees at the end make you question the loan. I think if you know what you are getting into then you would make sure you have everything written down so that there aren't any surprises.

The service that was provided by my loan officer was that he explained what the loan was about and gave me a round about figure on what I was to be charged. It was not until the end the full amount was given that we would owe.

My fee/closing cost was reasonable, considering that I had assistance from the city's first-time homeowner program. I was expecting to bring more money with me to closing, but it was reasonable with my lender.

My interest rate from my lender was comparable to other lenders. At the time of purchasing my home, the interest rate was hovering around 4.5%. Had I bought my home today, I know my interest rate would have been lower.

My loan officer went above and beyond with working with me, especially considering that he had to learn the complicated ins and outs of the first time homeowner soft second program in my city. He would call me several times a week with updates and really helped me every step of the way.

I initially went through a small bank/institution locally. What struck me most about the process was how passionate they were to serve and help me during what was a very cumbersome process. I enjoyed how hands-on and transparent they were.
Cons
There is nothing about my lending institution/bank that I truly dislike. They were helpful during the entirety of my home buying process. It was disappointing to see my loan go to another institution, but I am glad my lenders were so helpful.

I was not particularly impressed with our loan officer. He was slow to get back with us when we had questions sometimes and was very informative throughout the process. As first-time homebuyers, I would have preferred to have a loan officer that explained the process to us better.

Our current lending bank is Chase and I am extremely satisfied with them. Our mortgage was originally from a different lender, which I cannot recall the name of, but was sold to Chase almost immediately after we bought the house.
Cons
There actually is not anything I dislike about Chase in regards to our mortgage loan. They have been very responsive and very helpful when I have questions about everythiing from paying our property taxes to homeowners insurance. I would definitely recommend them as a mortgage company.

Rates were good and the overall experience was backed up by a larger company so they could more accurately deal with the sheer volume of requests they get.

Such a big company that you really don't get any personal touch. You should expect to be treated as a number because you really are with something this big.

I guess closing costs are standard but it was surprising how significant it was and how there were all these other small miscellaneous fees ($50 for document shipping?). All these small costs added up to a decent chunk of change.

Interest Rate
I felt we got a really good rate for a 30-year mortgage, maybe even the best at the time of the application. We had shopped around at other banks and were offered rates that were .25 to 1% more than what Chase offered us. Given the duration of the mortgage and the size of the loan, even a small percentage point increase in the interest can mean a good amount of money paid. We got a really good rate and I hate to be greedy in saying that "I would've preferred a lower rate" but I would've preferred a lower rate.

Loan Officer Service
The loan office we had explained to us in detail and walked us through the steps of the mortgage process and answered all our questions promptly. Sometimes we weren't even at the bank and called her up because we had comments or questions and she responded within the same day most of the time. She was helpful throughout and we felt that she was so good, we even referred friends to her.

The staff was friendly and helpful and they had many locations throughout the area we live in. Also, we already had personal accounts at the bank which probably made things easier but I felt we might've received some perks because of it (upgraded to premium checking at no charge, free checks, no charge cashier for checks for mortgage down payment, and most importantly a low mortgage rate [I really do feel that already have an account there had an effect on this]).
Cons
Sometimes it feels "commercialized" as they try to get you to sign for the highest or best accounts but I guess that's the same with every bank. Luckily for us though, we had a loan officer who was honest and helpful and worked with us through each step of the mortgage process. She didn't "wing it" or just go through the motions to earn her commission.

I believe our closing coast was typical of what most mortgage companies charge for closing cost. I honestly didn't look around at others, but it didn't seem either high or low.

Our interest rate was first at 6%, which I thought was quite high at the time. But our back was Chase, not our choice, which I do not like doing business with anyway because of problems in the past with them.

Yes, they were professional and courteous. It didn't take us too long to sign the papers once the mortgage went through. It was a while ago since we did this, but I'm sure I remember this correctly.

I like that it was close by to our new home. The loan officer was pleasant enough to deal with and we got out of his office in a reasonable time.
Cons
I've had problems with them in the past with checking and credit card issues, so we weren't too happy to know that they would be our mortgage company. When we refinanced with them a few years after we purchased our home, we were told we would get a deal where the only charge we had to pay throughout the whole refinancing process was $375. I made sure to reiterate that with the loan officer. But when we came back in to sign the paperwork, we were told that we owed $1800 more. I was furious but not surprised that they flat out lied to us. We argued and complained to the point that they finally dropped that charge.

Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my entire mortgage loan approval process. The loan officer in charge of my home loan was very helpful and patient with explaining all of my available options. She delivered A+ service in a highly professional and timely manner.

I have no complaints or dislikes when it comes to my mortgage lending company. My loan officer delivered excellent service and their rates were competitive. I would highly recommend Chase to anyone who is looking to buy a home.

The closing fee cost of my mortgage and with my company absolutely blew my mind because I was expecting a higher closing fee but was surprised with only paying a couple of thousands for it, where instead other companies had higher costs.

I liked everything about my process of achieving a mortgage from Chase, from the loan officer that helped me to get the cheapest deposit to the low-interest rate I really enjoyed the process with them and hope to do business with Chase in the near future.

To be honest I didn't dislike anything about my process of achieving a mortgage from Chase due to I coming away with a great deal on a house in which I wouldn't have been able to do with another company.

Some lenders offered lower rate, but they were smaller more risky banks. We were satisfied with our rate relative to the amount we had to put down.

Our loan officer was very good. She was attentive and answered all phone calls and emails within an acceptable time frame.

I like that the lender had great customer service. Whenever a problem raised, or they needed additional information, it was communicated in an effective manner.
Cons
The amount of time it look to get an actual loan was lengthy. The amount of information require was also somewhat large.

Closing Fee
The closing costs included no hidden fees and were true reflection of what costs were expected when sealing the deal with regards to closing out the loan and finalizing agreements.

Interest Rate
Chase offers very competitive interest rates for home mortgage home loans. When compared to other major lenders, Chase usually comes in slightly lower than competitors rates like Citigroup and Wells Fargo.

Loan Officer Service
My loan officer was knowledgeable about helping secure a good loan along with 100% satisfaction in the entire loan process from start to finish.

My lender was everything that would be expected from a good lender. The lender was highly competent and instrumental in the entire home mortgage loan process.
Cons
I did not dislike anything about the lender. Everything that they assisted me with was 100 % satisfaction. I enjoyed the entire experience with nothing negative to speak of.

Closing Fee
We qualified for a VA loan so much of our costs were covered by the seller and lender. We were happy with the whole process.

Interest Rate
We got our loan package completed before they expected the Fed to hike the rates again. I believe within six months of closing, they did hike the rate.

Loan Officer Service
There was a slight error with my name on the documents and we noticed it just before closing. The loan officer quickly reprinted the entire package so the closing wasn't delayed.

They were pretty responsive when we would call or email with a question. The VA loan process is a bit slower than traditional loans, and the lender walked us through things fairly easily.
Cons
After we closed, we had a question about loans and financing. We contacted them and didn't hear back very quickly. They were so responsive before he got our business, but not after.

Closing Fee
I think most closing fees between lenders and the title company are all about the same. Most of those fees don't change.

Interest Rate
I have had a mortgage for 10 years now. Since then rates have come down tremendously so I am thinking of refinancing. Other lenders can buy your rate down for you.

Loan Officer Service
My loan officer went over and beyond for me and my husband during the home buying process. He was always available to answer questions and ease any of my concerns.

Overall Rating
Pros
My lender worked very hard to get me the best rate and the best bank to buy my loan in the closing process. He helped me by telling me things that needed to be paid off on credit report to get a great rate.
Cons
There was not much I didn't like my lender. He was awesome honest trustworthy and always available from the beginning to the end.
