I feel that my closing costs were decent, I don't feel that they were fair. My broker got less than the other broker....and also we were blindsided by the oil cost.
Interest Rate
The rates were very good when I purchased my home, I had very good credit and got a very good rate. I picked this bank because they gave me the best rate.
Loan Officer Service
The loan officer was friendly and all in all fine.
Overall Rating
Pros
We went with that specific bank, but they quickly sold our mortgage to another bank. We were not very happy with this and we did not have any warning.
Cons
I do not have much of an opinion on the original lender. Everything went smoothly originally but they pretty much sold our loan to another bank. I don't think we made one payment with them.

Closing Fee
I believe paying roughly $12,000 in closing costs was about the standard. I don't think I got any breaks or anything special.
Interest Rate
The rate I got was 4.125%, which was not that great given that I had good credit. I believe at the time, people were getting 3.75% or 3.8725% for some 30-year mortgages.
Loan Officer Service
I knew my loan officer through a friend. They were very helpful and explained everything. They also worked very quickly. Even when they made a mistake in the papers, they moved quickly.
Overall Rating
Pros
I think Stonegate Mortgage has a good website and it is easy to use. I think it is fast, modern, and has lots of accessibility options.
Cons
There isn't too much to dislike, other than the receiving a little higher rate. I think they are fair all in all.
