A recent Gavop study on home insurance prices in Decatur, Illinois, shows that the typical home value in the city is $80,100, the median home insurance cost is $340, and the savings between the 25th and 75th percentile of insurance premiums is $260. A comparison with the state-level values indicates that a typical home in the state of Illinois costs $190,800, the median home insurance value is $990, and the savings between the 25th and 75th percentile of insurance premiums is $720.

 Gavop analyzed the insurance premiums of homes typically valued between $59,000 and $191,000 within a 50-mile radius of Decatur. The study also compares the typical home values, median home insurance premiums, and savings between the 25th and 75th percentile of insurance premiums across 10 areas around the city.

 Champaign, located near Decatur, reports the highest potential savings of $600 on insurance premiums, a typical home value of $151,300, and a median home insurance cost of $880. Following Champaign is Boynton with a savings of $500, a typical home value of $146,300, and a median home insurance of $720. Chatham is third with a savings of $460, a typical home value of $161,800, and a median home insurance cost of $660. Ivesdale reports the next highest savings in insurance premiums at $360. The typical home value and median insurance premium are $93,500 and $480. Brown is fifth on the list with a potential savings of $350, a typical home value of $109,900, and the median premium of $490.
