I would rate them at a 2. I have only had one problem in two years but it was a big one. My mortgage company sent a check for my policy an Citizens misplaced it and almost cancelled my insurance.

I am in the middle of satisfaction because I feel that it's overpriced. In the five years we have owned our house not once have we needed to use it yet the price still keeps going up year after year. I don't understand how they can justify raising the price when my home value has not increased that much.

I'm quite dissatisfied with our insurance policy cost, which has more than doubled within the time we've owned our home. While we've shopped around, we're told that Citizens is the only company willing to give us a quote, due to our home's location within two miles of a major city with a high crime rate - although we are not in the borders and our city is quite safe.

I couldn't tell you my deductible. Even though I am the sole mortgage owner I just went with the lowest price, the chances of actually using that insurance is slim to none. My father has been in his home for 30 years and has never used his home insurance!

The few times I've had to contact my provider has been very pleasant. The only issues I've ever had, and I've had this with numerous companies, is their automated phone service fails too many times by disconnecting you prematurely or redirecting you to the end-of-call survey before you've even spoken to anyone. But, once I've actually connected to a real person everything was great.
