Austin, Texas, Sees Permits Valued as High as $167 Million Issued to Contractors for Commercial Development

Austin, Texas is the fastest-growing U.S. city with an increase in population from 750,491 in 2010 to 950,715 in 2017. A phenomenon worth exploring here is the response of the construction market to a population rate that is close to a million.

Electrical and Home Security Contractors Dominate Chicago’s List of Top Building Permit Recipients

Data from a recent study show that the top two contractors in Chicago received over 1,000 building permits in a single year -- more than double the number of permits received by the contractor who received the next highest number. This indicates that the top two contractors have a large share in the city’s building permits.
