Closing Fee
The fees were completely laid out. The fees were not as low as others, but paying the mortgage twice a month makes up for it.

Interest Rate
I have a VA loan and it's very low. Our interest rate is just above three percent an I am really happy that the bank does not sell the mortgage.

Loan Officer Service
Very easy to obtain info and I have never had to wait for a callback. I really enjoy working with her.

Overall Rating
Pros
Very good bank. We have other features of the bank that we use and my kids have accounts with the bank as well.
Cons
I wish they had more brick and mortar stores. They offer a lot of services and its nice to talk to the people in person.

Closing Fee
I paid up front a little more in fees to get a lower rate over time, and am happy with the result. The fees weren't all that different and they do provide good information in the disclosures so it's not too difficult to compare.

Interest Rate
I think a lot of the interest rates are very similar over time; I just got lucky and happened to close four years ago when rates were very low. Sometimes lenders play games with the interest rate and closing costs and other fees which is a pain but in the end it worked out.

Loan Officer Service
I didn't have any big problems and it was my third house so I knew to expect a lot of last-minute questions but mostly ignored. This loan officer was a little better than previous ones but again it could have been my familiarity with the process and better financial standing.

Overall Rating
Pros
Working with a big lender made the process more standardized and I felt like I could get someone else to help me there if I really needed to.
Cons
The Lender was sort of impersonal and I felt like there wasn't much room to negotiate or customize anything about the terms of the mortgage.

Closing Fee
My closing costs where built into the mortgage and were lower that what I had seen at other companies at the time. I also got money back for closing costs.

Interest Rate
It the time of my mortgage it was a very competitive interest rate. Since then, though the rates have dropped and it is a bit higher that I would like right now.

Loan Officer Service
I have very little interaction with the loan officer. I applied online and then had a few short phone conversations to finish up the "paperwork". It was very easy.

Overall Rating
Pros
I have been a long time customer with the Lender and have many different types of accounts with them. There have never been any problems with them and they seem very straight forward and honest.
Cons
The only thing that I dislike about the lender was that they have been calling me a lot recently about refinancing my mortgage. They leave very long messages stating the same thing over and over.

Date: June 22, 2018    Age: 30 to 39    Gender: Female    Marital Status: Married

Closing Fee
We did not have to pay any closing costs or any other fees associated with the closing process. It was all paid by the seller.

Interest Rate
At the time the bank we normally use for loans wanted 25% down for a home loan which we did not have. We wound up finding this company and wound up with a 20% interest rate. We were not in a situation where we could come up with $20,000 to put down but now we are stuck with a high-interest rate and barely make a dent in our principal every year.

Loan Officer Service
Our loan officer was a jerk. He would not return phone calls or e-mails. The only time we heard from him is when he needed information from us and was very short when we did speak to him.

Overall Rating
Pros
The only thing good about his company is I can go online and pay my bill and see my payoff balance without communicating with anyone.
Cons
They are horrible to communicate with. They send letters to us that are meant for other people. it is a very disorganized company.

Date: February 10, 2018    Age: 30 to 39    Gender: Male    Marital Status: Married

Closing Fee
Although I paid more than originally expected, closing costs were still lowest out of all the Lenders I shopped with. The reason I paid more was due to issues with the city, not the lender them self.

Interest Rate
The interest rate was very competitive. I was able to choose from different lenders to get the best rate.

Loan Officer Service
The loan officer talked me through applying for the mortgage on my first. She was just as determined as I was to make sure I did everything possible for approval.

Overall Rating
Pros
Although this was a stressful experience for me, it would have been much worse without my lender's help. I am grateful to them for walking me through buying my first home.
Cons
I don't have any complaints or dislikes about the lender. I would not be a homeowner without their help.

Closing Fee
The fees were basically as expected - no more or less than other lenders really.

Interest Rate
The interest rate was slightly lower than others at the time. This was a refinance.

Loan Officer Service
The loan officer was helpful, although slow returning communication at times.

Overall Rating
Pros
I like the low rates they had and the ease of the application process.
Cons
I hated the fact that they charge a fee to make an online payment through their website. That makes no sense at all.

Date: July 10, 2018    Age: 50 to 59    Gender: Female    Marital Status: Married

Closing Fee
After much research, I feel certain that our closing rate was comparable to those in surrounding areas. We mainly looked at how our final payment would be affected and went by that

Interest Rate
Compare to other lenders we were able to get a lower interest rate. We search around so I truly believe that we got the best rate at the time.

Loan Officer Service
My loan officer was the best. She explained everything as this was our first buy. She had different routes already outlined and on paper to show us the best routes to take that would be beneficial to us.

Overall Rating
Pros
They have always been quick to respond with minimal problems of reaching. I have online access or can easily reach them by phone.
Cons
I really wish that had more tools online to work with. I would have like to see more sources other than how to pay my bill.

Closing Fee
It's been nearly 20 years since I first got my mortgage, so I can't remember exactly but I know the sellers paid the closing costs except for our attorney's fees which I believe were around $500. I believe my costs were about average for my area.

Interest Rate
at the time I got my mortgage, interest rates everywhere were around 8 percent, so that's what I originally had. a few years later (around 2003/2004) interest rates were dropping, so I refinanced at 6 percent. Over time, they continued to fall to around 4 percent, but by that time, it wasn't worth the cost of refinancing to justify changing again. I believe that interest rates were about the same at each bank in my area.

Loan Officer Service
She was very knowledgeable and professional. There were a few times when she "forgot" something, didn't mention something about a document we needed, etc. Overall I felt like the service was good.

Overall Rating
Pros
We started out with a mortgage from our local bank. The initial closing etc went smoothly. Then a few months/year later or so we were notified that they sold our mortgage to Chase bank. I never had any problems with either institution. I was very pleased with the ease and user-friendliness of Chase's online mortgage department. It was very easy to understand and navigate. I could easily see my payment history, balance, etc. Any time I needed to call I didn't have to wait long to speak to someone and every issue was handled promptly or questions were answered without issue.
Cons
I thought that our local bank wasn't as experienced with handling mortgages. It simply wasn't their specialty. After our bank sold the mortgage to Chase, I don't remember any problems. I was hoping to get some type of document when I finished paying my mortgage - something that said "paid in full" etc but I did not. I went to my city property records and had them print off the document that Chase had sent them so they'd sent me the tax bill etc from then on.

Interest Rate
We brought down the interest rate to 3.75%. Since we plan on living in this home 15+ years, we were thrilled with the rate and wanted as low as possible. This will be a great financial investment as this area is growing. I desire to retire early based upon the appreciation of this area, combined with good financial decisions and sound and regular investing.

Loan Officer Service
He was amazing. The best in the business. I liked him so much, I wrote to his bosses and filled out surveys about my experience (which I don't normally do for free). I recommend him to anyone I talk to regarding mortgages.

Overall Rating
Pros
Think Bank is a one-stop shop. We got our checking account, our insurance, our car insurance, and our mortgage there. I will use them as long as we're here due to the great service of our mortgage officer.
Cons
I don't have anything I dislike about Think. They have a great staff, great buildings and are genuine. Super nice, friendly and I like them a lot. They actually were one of the best parts about moving here so far.
