Florida Mortgaged Homeowners Expenses are Higher than the National Value

A recent study by gavop shows that homeowners with a mortgage in Florida paid 33.3 percent of their income towards housing costs, which is higher than the national average of 30.9 percent. Additionally, homeowners in Florida with a mortgage had a median yearly housing costs of $16,920 in 2016, which is just $912 below the national value of $17,832.

A recent study found that homeowners with a mortgage in New York allocated 39.5 percent of their income towards housing costs compared to 30.9 percent at the national level. Specifically, homeowners with a mortgage had a median yearly housing cost of $24,240 in 2016, which is $6,408 more than the national value.

Households in this income bracket were also the only ones to witness an increase in mortgages from 2009 to 2016, while there was a decrease in homes of lesser household income levels being mortgaged during the same period.

Mortgaged Homes in Texas Increased only for High-Income Households
