Closing Fee
To be completely honest, it has been quite a while since we bought the house. The seller paid half of the closing costs, so it was not too onerous, but I don't remember how much it actually was.
Interest Rate
I know people with higher interest rates, but I also know people with lower ones. I am thinking about checking around to see if we could refinance and get a better rate.
Loan Officer Service
Since taking out the loan, we have not had to talk to the loan officer about anything, but at the time she was easy to reach, and very helpful and informative.
Overall Rating
Pros
We do most of our banking there, so it is really easy to make payments, or extra principal only payments. There is a branch near our house, so it would be easy to drop in if we needed to discuss something.
Cons
The bank has changed hands more than once since we took out the mortgage. I worry that it has become so enormous that the interests and needs of small borrowers like us will not be important to them.
