Honolulu real estate appreciated 39.48% over the last ten years, with an average annual home appreciation rate of 3.38%, putting Honolulu in the top 20% nationally for real estate appreciation. Moreover, less than 2% of Honolulu homes are valued below than $119,000. The neighborhood of Ewa had the lowest home value of  $118,200. The neighborhood of Niu Valley had the highest home values with an average home costing $1,120,000. About 18.7% of homes in Honolulu were valued above 2 Million Dollars. Large apartment complexes are the most common housing type in Honolulu, accounting for 59.41% of the city's housing units.

Aina Haina is one of the safest neighborhoods in Honolulu to live in. The average home values in Aina Haina are as low as $233,047. Ala Moana was another neighborhood that is considered to be extremely safe and peaceful. The average home value in Ala Moana is around $573,600. Kalihi was found to be the worst neighborhood in Honolulu to live in.

The neighborhood of Maunawili has the highest education rate with 61% of the population having a Bachelor’s degree or better education. Urban Honolulu has the highest school dropout rate of 12%. Besides, Urban Honolulu also had the highest housing density in Honolulu with 2,481 Houses per sq mile.
