I was previously insured under another company by homeowners through my ex-husband. The premium was much lower, but so was the coverage. We had a power surge that fried nearly all of the electronics and major appliances in the home. Luckily, I was still covered under my renter's policy and this covered all the belongings in the home that were damaged as a result of the power surge.

I once missed making a payment because the autopay feature that I had been signed up for became inactive when my credit card was renewed (i.e. a new number was issued).
