On average, about 340 robberies and 10,643, property-related crimes are reported annually in Mobile. In fact, the city has one of the highest crime rates in the United States among communities of all sizes—from the smallest towns to the largest cities. According to the year-end crime statistics in 2018, 39 murders were reported in Mobile. About 95% of the Alabama neighborhoods have a lower crime rate than that in Mobile.
